This year, The Solae Company, LLC became the first Champion of Children’s Dreams and sponsor with a $50,000 contribution. This event not only heightens awareness of the need for sustainable school feeding programs in developing countries, but is an important source of funding for the foundation through corporate sponsorships.

Solae’s dedication to ending childhood hunger has been evident through their support of GCNF’s efforts since 2007 when a company representative first attended the Global Forum in Chicago, IL.  Solae witnessed, first-hand, leaders from developing countries participating in a five-day program that included a workshop in which delegates prepared country specific plans for developing their school feeding programs through the use of GCNF’s School Feeding Toolkit. The Toolkit, now in its third edition, guides the delegate through goal setting, diagnosis of key issues that influence program development, needs assessment, and worksheets that produce a detailed plan for actions after the delegate returns home.  Solae’s ongoing financial support helps GCNF provide the technical assistance that begins when country leaders attend their first Global Child Nutrition Forum to the knowledge exchange and problem resolution that GCNF provides the leaders for years afterward.
