Child nutrition programs in Chile are among the most renowned in the world. The Chilean government administers the program, which is then implemented by private contractors. The child nutrition programs are a major contributor to improving the nutrition of the nation’s children while simultaneously increasing Chile’s school participation rate to nearly 100 percent. As a result of Chilean school feeding programs, the incidences of malnutrition have been greatly reduced. Consistent government support has been one of the integral determinants in the success of the child nutrition and school support programs in Chile. Public-private partnerships have also been driving forces in the program’s success.
