On Monday, July 12, 2010, the Change Our World Wellness Event had over 500 participants up and moving with a Zumba® class where they learned how to combine body sculpting movements with Latin steps. The Wellness Event took place during the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference (ANC), helped raise awareness about global childhood hunger and was a celebration of the school foodservice professionals, corporate industry members and students who participated in the Change Our World campaign. The Wellness Event was generously supported by Chrane Foodservice Solutions, General Mills Foodservice, NUTRIKIDS, Pierre Smart Picks, Schwan’s Food Service and Winston Industries.
Rio Grande SNA presented GCNF President Gene White and GCNF Secretary Penny McConnell with a check from their successful Change Our World Campaign. The funds that are raised through Change Our World and given to GCNF are used to further our vision of a world in which hunger is not a barrier to children learning.
